The circular mandala form is universal, among the first forms drawn by children all over the world.  It is seen in rose windows of medieval churches and Native American sand paintings and, in several cultures, is used as a religious form with symbolic meaning. Psychologist Carl Jung used the mandalas as a therapeutic art tool to express thoughts and feelings. The project will have two parts: the first part will develop the expression of the individuality of each student and the second one will encourage participation in a group. The goal is for students to express themselves in a circular format with a combination of words, symbols, shapes and colors while developing his math and geometry skills.  The project will encourage students to use their unique qualities to communicate and work in a project with others.

I’m an artist born and raised in Argentina. I spent my formative years in Buenos Aires and received my education from the National University of the Arts (IUNA). After receiving my Bachelors in Fine Arts and Art Education, I began working as an Art Teacher independently, at the university and also in K-12.  Additionally, I have participated in several group and solo art exhibitions as an artist and as an assistant curator. My focus is in modern and contemporary art. In 2013 my family and I moved to San Francisco, California where my son was born and where I live until 2017, when we moved to Mount Pleasant, SC.
