Create a brilliant mandala design in glass! Mary Ann Everett of Riviera Arts leads this workshop to share the basic techniques of mosaic with curious makers. Select from an abundant selection of colorful glass, tile, mirror and beads to design a 12” circular, meditative wall hanging!

Participants learn basic glass cutting techniques and design tips while creating a colorful 12” circular mosaics. A variety of materials will be available to design your unique mandala. Learn to cut basic glass shapes and combine ceramic pieces, mirror, bead chain and millefiori for more interest and texture as you design a unique mandala wall hanging.

No previous mosaic experience is required!

This project to be completed over three weeks:

The first two weeks (3 hours each session) will include learning basic mosaic techniques including cutting stained glass, designing and adhering the tesserae onto the substrate. Grouting the completed designs will be done in the third week (approximately 2 hours).

Participants needing more time to complete their design will receive extra materials and a “grout kit” with instructions to finish at home.

All materials and use of tools provided by Riviera Arts.

Materials:
Stained glass, mirror, pre-cut glass/ceramic shapes, millefiori, stainless steel/brass bead chain, mdf substrate, nontoxic glue, sanded grout.

Tools:
Glass scorers, nippers, grozers, tweezers, picks, sponges, hanging hardware.
