Elise Moore grew up in Sumter, SC, her fondest memories consisted of spending summers on the beach at Pawleys Island just north of Charleston. Before teaching, she earned a BA from Converse College and an MAT from Furman University. 

Elise’s favorite painting tools are her fingers. In her own words, 

“Painting is personal to me, and it is the process that interests me the most. Alone in my studio with music playing is where I feel most creative. I like to build layers in each piece, then scratch, scribble, and even tear the paper to reveal the layers below. I require no accolades or recompense for my art.  The sheer act of creation is its own fulfillment.”
