In 2013, Carson Carroll spent the summer in an intensive high-school art program held at Redux Contemporary Art Center, in its original location on St. Philips St. This is where she first discovered a love for the contemporary art world. Redux helped jump-start Carson’s career in the visual arts and showed her the importance of art education and having access to the art world. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University in 2019. After receiving her undergraduate degree and taking some time to travel, Carson spent two years serving as a 1st-8th grade art educator. During the summer of 2021, Carson served as Redux’s Education Fellow and then transitioned into the full-time role of Education and Outreach Coordinator in the summer of 2022.

Stepping into the Education and Outreach role at Redux, Carson is ready to grow the program by increasing and diversifying the reach of Redux’s resources to the community. She is excited to continue working with a growing team of talented teaching artists, Redux’s staff, board, interns, and volunteers, to create programs that offer a wide range of arts education for all ages. Carson’s commitment to the arts and long history in Charleston will allow her to grow relationships with community organizations, individuals, students, and schools that are crucial and are what continue to be at the center of Redux’s education and outreach programming.
