Redux is excited to announce our next Studio Seminar! Studio Seminars is an ongoing professional development series for Artists. These informal, roundtable discussions serve as continuing education and professional development for artists. Each seminar is guided by an industry professional who sheds light on a specific field that can help further the professional practice of artists. This series is always free and open to the public, fostering an environment for expanding professional networks, learning, conversation, and inspiration. The next speaker for our Studio Seminars will be W. Andre Allen. Here is Allen’s work in his own words:

“I would like to talk about being and artist. Believing in what you’re doing so that there’s a great outcome. How painting on glass chose me and how dyslexia was the reason.

The first time I applied acrylic paint to glass I got excited. When acrylic meets glass, the two marry in a way that doesn’t
happen using other media. Using sheets of glass gives me a sense of freedom. Mounting the glass on wood panels,
which I call the frameless frame, gives the work a free-flowing feel. Providing the viewer with the sensation that the work
continues to move off the picture plane. The longer I am engaged with this process I realize how unlimited the possibilities are.”
