WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: In this workshop we will cover all of the essential skills for metalsmithing including: sawing, piecing, filing, soldering, and polishing. Through project-based hands-on instruction each student will learn to fabricate findings to make a brooch, how to add a variety of textures to a set of stacking rings or pair of earrings, and how to create a bezel setting for a stone to add to a ring or pendant. Each student will leave with at least three finished pieces and a vast knowledge of creating handmade jewelry. This class is great for someone who has no prior metalsmithing experience or someone who is looking to expand their skills in the studio.

Olivia is from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and attended the Fashion Institute of design and Merchandising in Los Angeles where she was awarded Jewelry Design of the Year in 2011. She has also taken classes at the Gemological Institute of America, Arrowmont School of Crafts, and Penland School of Crafts. Olivia currently works from her studio full time in Charleston, SC.

Once your register for a workshop, you will receive an individual email from Redux confirming your registration the day of or the next business day. Registration closes June 14th, 2024 for Summer Sessions. If a class is full when you register, you will be notified by email that your name has been added to the Waitlist should a spot become available.
