Warm Light

Artist: Hirona Matsuda
Exhibit Dates: February 13 – March 14
Opening Reception: Friday February 13, 5 – 8PM
Location: Main Gallery

‘Warm Light’ is a site-specific installation by local artist Hirona Matsuda. The concept for this piece was inspired by her desire for a sense of comfort, warmth, and light in a fairly dim time. These elements are physical, but also felt emotionally and in this work she blends the two to allow viewers to experience them through their own lens.

This project will be her first solo show at Redux and will be created on-site leading up to the opening. Matsuda will be holding public days during this process for the community to come and observe, ask questions, and participate in the creation of the work if they choose. She believes communal art making is a way to exchange ideas and learn about each other which can lead to a better understanding of who we are.
