Nysa is an emerging artist based in Charleston, SC, whose work blends technique and texture with movement and emotion to create abstract, ethereal landscapes that feel both intimate and expansive. She explores the intersection of material, lived experience, and identity through a distinct use of raw canvas, acrylic washes, powdered pigments, and pastel. Each piece becomes a dialogue between surface, subject, medium, artist, and viewer. Nysa hand-stretches each canvas herself. fostering a deep, tactile connection to her work. Maggie Pennington

Maggie is an interdisciplinary artist and graphic designer from Charleston, South Carolina. She studied printmaking at the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art where she graduated with a BFA and is currently working toward a second degree in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her background in printmaking combined with her love for design shows up in her work through bright colors, bold shapes, and balanced compositions.

Drawing inspiration from both nostalgic childhood imagery (like her favorite picture books) and the playful moments of everyday life, Maggie’s art is a vibrant reflection of both memory and imagination.

While themes of identity and personal experience subtly inform her work, at the heart of everything she makes is her love for color and the way it can tell a story all on its own.

At the end of the day, Maggie is a painter, printmaker, designer, illustrator, sculptor, jewelry maker, expert in arts and crafts and more, driven by her never ending desire to be in the presence of art.
