JACK DUNCAN

MEDIUM: Film Photography, Water Color, Drawing

Jack Duncan is a Charleston-based artist, designer, and educator whose work explores the relationship between architecture, memory, landscape, and the everyday life of cities. Working primarily through film photography, watercolor rendering and drawing, he documents historic urban environments, vernacular buildings, gardens, and fleeting moments of light and atmosphere throughout the American South.

With a background in architecture, historic preservation, and art history, Jack approaches image-making as a form of observation and record. His work is shaped by an interest in material aging, proportion, craft, and the quiet continuity that exists between people and place over time.

Alongside his artistic practice, Jack teaches architectural design and urbanism in Charleston, where he continues to study and document the built environment as both a civic and deeply personal subject.
