“Moments in Time” is an artistic study of enjoying the present moment with no thought of the past or future. The creative act focuses on what is happening in the moment, and being the flow can eliminate the passage of time. Of course, the finished work can bring to mind many different aspects of life with personal interpretation.
Nancy Perry, a mixed-media artist, is influenced by the world around her, whether it be places or happenings. She discovered this explanation of Lyrical Art, “an expression of something personal and emotive in a poetic and abstract way” and feels like it best describes her work.
In her abstract work she enjoys using a mixture of materials including water-based paints, drawing materials, and collage papers for artistic exploration, sometimes inspired by words, songs, scraps of paper or anything that seems interesting. Combining disparate collage elements, along with paint and drawing materials, into harmonious works of art is a metaphor for life itself finding commonality within groups of divergent people.
