CITY GRIDS & WATER VIEWS

This body of work is inspired by the long history of the area, and the many paths of animals, natives, and immigrants who traversed the peninsula and surrounding areas. During their travels they left paths that were altered and paved over time.

The waters surrounding them ebbed and flowed over the land too.

As a creative and a transplant to Charleston, I am inspired by the history and nature surrounding me. I am filled with joy and a sense of gratitude that I am able to work in my Redux studio and make art surrounded by other joy-filled creatives. Like many people who live in the Low Country, I am enchanted by the water views. I’ve come to learn though, that those water views are sometimes more accessible. I’ve found that if you are not fortunate to have a beautiful view looking out toward a creek, river, bay, or ocean just wait for a King Tide and/or a rainstorm then you may find your water view on the streets and sidewalks right outside your door. I hope my artistic experimentation and exploration of the idea of city grids and water views brings you as much joy viewing them as I had creating
