Opening Reception: Friday February 13, 5 – 8PM
Location: Gallery 1056
In Gallery 1056, resident studio artist Katie Libby presents “Atmospheric Memory”.This exhibition looks at memory as something that shifts and settles, much like weather or light in a landscape. The paintings move between figure and place, focusing on quiet moments, soft color, atmosphere, and reflection. Katie grew up in South Carolina, surrounded by creativity, imagination, and color. She earned dual BAs in Studio Art and Art & Architectural History from the College of Charleston and continues to create and explore her work in Charleston, SC. The subjects of her paintings tend to reside within the everyday, specifically in the familiar landscapes around us or the faces we often overlook.
