Shelby Corso

Shelby Corso (b. 1997, New York) received her BFA in painting in May 2020 from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a painter and mixed media artist interested in the unconscious, as well as her relationship to nature and spirituality. She uses imagery such as people, plants, and abstract or conjured forms to explore topics she is interested in. 

Shelby paints in both oil and acrylic, and uses found objects for her sculptures and collages. Her work has been featured in group shows at the Fox 2 Gallery (Baltimore, MD), The Lazarus Center (Baltimore, MD), the MICA Main Building (Baltimore, MD), and The Annmarie Sculpture Garden (Solomons, MD). Her work hangs in the therapy rooms at the Met Council (New York City) as well as Charleston Behavioral Health and Wellness (Charleston, SC).
