JEWELRY CASTING

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
In this week-long course students will learn the basics of the lost wax casting process to create the jewelry of their dreams! Perfect for a beginner or someone with experience looking to learn or expand on a new skill set. You will learn how to sculpt and carve wax, add stones, create a casting tree, use the kiln for the burnout process, and inject molten metal to create sterling silver and bronze jewelry. We will also cover the finishing process of cleaning up and polishing your castings. If there is time and interest I will also demonstrate the process of sand casting which is perfect for a home studio. Each student will leave with a handful of finished pieces and a lot of knowledge on this delightful process.

Olivia is from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and attended the Fashion Institute of design and Merchandising in Los Angeles where she was awarded Jewelry Design of the Year in 2011. She has also taken classes at the Gemological Institute of America, Arrowmont School of Crafts, and Penland School of Crafts. Olivia currently works from her studio full time in Charleston, SC.

Registration will open on March 14th, 2024 at noon. Once your register for a workshop, you will receive an individual email from Redux confirming your registration the day of or the next business day. Registration closes September 13th, 2024 for the October Session. If a class is full when you register, you will be notified by email that your name has been added to the Waitlist should a spot become available.
