Get Low: Works by Kate Hooray Osmond

Exhibit dates: October 6th – November 10, 2017

Location: Main Gallery

Paintings by Kate Hooray Osmond begin 1,000 feet above the ground: she flies in a helicopter to capture her source imagery and translates her views into bright large-scale paintings. Kate traces the relationships between community and environment of the Charleston area with powerful compositions and strong lines of gold leaf. Her depictions of factories, container ships, and highways, overlain with graphic imagery from our digital experiences, evoke a truly modern landscape.

Kate Hooray Osmond was named by Coastal Community Foundation as 2017 Griffith-Reyburn Lowcountry Artist of the Year. This grant is awarded to an individual artist on an annual basis, whose work represents the culture, look and feel of the Lowcountry region.
