Let’s be honest, we all could use more happy trees in our lives.
Redux will be offering a workshop that teaches the technical skills needed to produce paintings in the Bob Ross, Wet on Wet style. This workshop is taught by Toby Casey, CRI (Charleston’s ONLY Certified Bob Ross Instructor). Having studied at the Bob Ross Workshop and Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, which is the actual workshop where Bob Ross taught in the 80’s and 90’s, Toby was certified to teach this style after completion of 120 hours of instruction from a curriculum developed by Bob himself!
What you can expect at the class: Using all the brushes utilized by Bob, you will be spending 2.5 hours, with a large 16×20 inch canvas learning to paint a landscape based directly from an actual episode of “Joy of Painting.” The landscapes are specifically chosen for their variety of elements and ability to be executed by a new painter, but yet, every workshop presents a different Bob Ross painting. When you leave this class, you will have the foundations to build on a wonderful hobby that will bring a lifetime of peace and joy.
EXCLUSIVE TO REDUX – Differentiated from the other classes that Toby is offering around Charleston, these classes are longer in duration, the canvases are larger, and the classes are smaller allowing for more one on one instruction.
We cannot emphasise enough, whether you are an established painter and want to learn more about the Alla Prima method, or you have never touched a paint brush in your life, you can succeed at this workshop.
THIS MONTH’s painting will be based on Season 13, Episode 4 of Bob Ross’ show (see link for a preview). Toby will be featuring a NEW PAINTING each month at Redux, so there is always something new to learn!
This is an all inclusive workshop, you just show up with a willingness to learn and a mask, and we supply everything else, and in the end, you go home with a happy painting.
