One of the oldest art forms, watercolor painting can be used for preliminary sketches or to create final masterpieces. Often said to be difficult, this class helps you unravel problems and learn to use the medium successfully. This class will introduce you to the joy of watercolor painting. Learn to create luminous washes for skies, color mixing for the variety of greens you will encounter in nature, working with glazing to harmonize the overall design and composition tips and techniques. This is a project-oriented class to learn techniques, for example, we will create several paintings like landscapes, still-life paintings, floral paintings, and abstracts.

Week 2 Color mixing and color stories to unify your piece
Week 3 Mixing Greens for landscape paintings
Week 4 Developing subject matter and composition
Week 5 Understanding and applying value for emphasis
Week 6 Pulling it all together
