This six-week class is designed to introduce the basic elements of oil painting to students with little or no experience. Demonstrations on different painting techniques, paint handling, color mixing, preparing supports, proper studio practice and caring for tools and equipment, combined with guided exercises, help to familiarize each student with the medium. Classes will become more complex as students work from their own initial sketches to more developed pieces with lots of guidance from the instructor to boost confidence!
