Ready to take your camera out of the “automatic” mode, and your photography to the next level? While the principles of photography have not changed, there are some considerations which accompany the use of a digital camera. This class will cover the selection of a file type, white balance, and image resolution which are among the basics of digital photography. The class will also cover the fundamentals of exposure, the effects of shutter speed and aperture, composition, autofocus, and equipment choices. Students must have a digital SLR camera or “bridge” camera that allows the adjustment of aperture and shutter speed but do not need to know how to use it for this beginner class.
Major Goals of this Class: To learn the fundamentals of photography and enable the student to capture better and more creative images.
* Stay tuned for a next-step class in Lightroom to follow! *
Supplies needed by students: A digital single lens reflex or bridge camera (not point-and-shoot) that allows the selection of aperture and shutter speed. Students will need a notebook, preferably a three ring style, for their handouts and to take notes.
