Join local artist Daisy McClellan for her Indigo Dye for Self Care Workshop. In this class you’ll learn a new skill while creating items to help you cultivate a self care routine at home. You’ll learn the fundamentals of using indigo dye from beginning to end and dye a one size fits most robe – perfect for lounging at home or as a coverup at the beach. You’ll also dye a spa headband which we love using when indulging in an at-home face mask. Additionally you’ll get practice with various shibori patterns by dying a hand towel which has a multitude of uses. We use ours in the kitchen and bathroom to dry our hands but past students have used it as a wall hanging and to wrap baked goods in an environmentally friendly way! We’ll discuss the history of indigo in South Carolina and then dive into how to create a dye vat and various shibori tie dye methods that reveal beautiful patterns. You’ll go home with a beautiful wrap and headband custom dyed by you that will give you the inspiration to take time for yourself everyday. Beginners are welcome in this 2 hour workshop- no experience is required. All materials provided.

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy or bring an apron if you have one. Some time will be spent outside weather permitting.
