The Studio Seminars kicked off with Harriet Green, the visual arts director of the South Carolina Arts Commission. Harriet received her B.A. degree in art history from the University of South Carolina in Columbia in 1980. From 1980- 1988, she was the registrar and assistant curator (1988) at the Columbia Museum of Art. She has held her position as the Visual Arts Director of the South Carolina Arts Commission since 1993. She has curated or co-curated exhibitions in South Carolina and New York City and is also the curator of the South Carolina Arts Commission State Art Collection.
