Allison Grass

Board of Directors

Allison Grass has a multiplicity of experience in both the natural and built environments. She has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors in planning and preservation, grantwriting, non-profit management, fundraising, research, technical and creative writing, partnership development, and community and government affairs. Allison is grateful to have worked with many remarkable organizations in a variety of capacities, including serving as Vice President of Institutional Affairs and Director of Community and Government Affairs for the American College of the Building Arts and Interim Planning Administrator for the City of Charleston. Through her consulting business, Allison assists clients in developing community and preservation plans and documents, such as the Johns Island Community Plan and scenic byway management plans that led to the federal designation of 2 of only 4 National Scenic Byways in SC, as well as helps organizations with funding research, proposal development, and grantwriting. Allison is also the owner and maker of handcrafted jewelry behind Naturally Awear.

Allison double-majored in Art History and Sociology at Converse College and received a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University. She graduated from the Coastal Master Naturalist program and enjoys continuing her education through advanced training in native flora and fauna communities. Allison volunteers with the local non-profit (and REDUX partner) HEART and serves on the City of Charleston’s Board of Zoning Appeals-Zoning and the Charleston Trees Committee. She is the proud mother of Sophie Bello, who enjoyed attending REDUX summer camps as a child.
