Redux Contemporary Art Center presented artist in residence Jeffrey A. Zimmermann, an internationally renowned pop art muralist and large-scale painter. Zimmermann created paintings in the gallery space as well as on the façade of Redux during a three-week residency from May 4 – May 20. The public was encouraged to visit the gallery during the installation to view Zimmermann’s process of transforming the gallery space.

Zimmermann, known for his thought-provoking street art, strives to spark dialogue through stimulating site-specific murals. His work, presented through dynamic renderings and technique, challenges audiences while employing their minds. His artistic process centers on a unique observation, conversation, and exploration of the local community. For this exhibition, the downtown Charleston community will serve as the soul and inspiration for Zimmermann’s artwork.
