Olivia Ruxton Cramer

Olivia attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California where received a degree in Jewelry Design and Metal smithing and was awarded Jewelry Designer of the Year in 2011. Since then she has returned to South Carolina, worked multiple jobs in the jewelry and creative industry, briefly switched focus to working in fiber, and has recently delved head first back into creating jewelry. This new push was brought on by attending an eight week concentration in Jewelry design at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Olivia has recently set up a shared studio space at the Fabulous Ellen Bright Hall in downtown Charleston, South Carolina where she currently resides and creates work.

This collection of jewelry was inspired by pairing down, focusing on traditional techniques, kinetic movement, and repetition of form. Inspiration was drawn heavily from the Arts and Crafts movement in jewelry and other decorative or craft arts such as quilting, weaving, and iron working.
