Katie Brash relocated to Charleston in 2017, after receiving her degree from Allegheny College in Studio Art. Her large-scale charcoal drawings deal with the study of bodies in antiquity, with a recent body of work particularly focusing on mythology. She focuses on the graphic and figurative ability to storytell, and the ways that ancient sculptural commodification of the body have shaped contemporary bodily ideologies. Her work aims to practice storytelling, and demonstrates the relationship between ancient sculpture, painting, drawing, architecture and time.
