8th Annual Art Auction

On Saturday, November 13th, 201o Redux Contemporary Art Center  held its eighth annual art auction fundraiser! The event was held at the Charleston Center for Photography (CCforP) to celebrate eight years of promoting the production, presentation and education of contemporary visual art. Over 50 original works by Charleston’s finest artists and dozens of art related goods and services were available for bidding during the exciting live and silent auction.

This was an evening not to be missed! In this eclectic crowd, mature collectors and young hipsters mixed and mingled over their shared love of local art. The exceptional quality and variety of work featured in this auction ensured that there was something for everyone. This was also a great opportunity for individuals to find the perfect gift to complete their holiday shopping.

Last year’s event attracted an exciting audience from the Lowcountry. Redux received rave reviews from press and auction participants, donating artists and sponsors, and raised over $15,000 to support the nonprofit programs at Redux.

This year guests enjoyed festive food and fun drinks as they perused  the diverse works available for bid. Paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture and one-of-a-kind accessories were on view in the gallery space of CCforP.

All proceeds helped Redux continue to develop diverse programming, while introducing and educating the public to the contemporary visual arts. Support from the community allowed Redux to continue to exhibit artwork by national and international artists, support local artists, and enrich the Charleston community through their adult and youth education programs. As the only organization in Charleston providing these much-needed opportunities, support of the Redux 2010 art auction assisted Redux in maintaining an ambitious schedule of exhibition, outreach and studio programs to accomplish their goals.
