Redux Contemporary Art Center launches its Spring 2009 membership drive and fundraiser. The membership drive begins April 20 and ends on May 20, with a member only preview party featuring Artist in Residence Jeff Zimmermann at Redux 6-9 PM. Chicago based artist, Jeff Zimmermann (www.jazim.com) will be transforming the large interior gallery space as well as the façade of Redux May 4 - May 20 with murals that reflect the Charleston community. Zimmermann will give a lecture about his work at 7pm on Wednesday May 20, 2009 at the member only preview party. Members are encouraged to bring a guest to the event.

Memberships start at $25 and members that join or renew at the Patron level or above will receive a limited edition Redux T-shirt and will be eligible for door prizes. Other members may sponsor Redux with a $30 contribution in addition to their membership fee to be eligible for door prizes. Among the great door prizes are Weekend Getaways, which promote the visual arts and travel within our region. These getaways include museum and art center memberships, overnight stays, and dinning gift certificates for two in: Atlanta, Savannah, Columbia and Charlotte. Music for the evening will be provided by Rocky Horror and a full new line of limited edition Redux t-shirts will be released by artists: John Pundt, Karen Ann Myers, Kevin Taylor, Abacus, Nate Phelps and olive*argyle.

Proceeds from this event will support Redux’s mission in the production, presentation, and education of Contemporary Art. Redux Contemporary Art Center is a non-profit gallery, studio, and education center. Through diverse programming and a full studio facility, Redux promotes and encourages all forms of artistic creation, while introducing and educating the public to the contemporary arts. Redux partners with Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Girl Scouts, Yo! Arts, and Charleston County School District providing much needed free Outreach Programs to disadvantaged youth in our community.
